Lightning 4, Jets 2: Captain Martin St. Louis scored two goals in the third period as visiting Tampa Bay edged Winnipeg to end its four-game road trip with three wins.

St. Louis, who learned he was left off the Canadian Olympic team earlier in the day, snapped a tie 8:39 into the third and added a late empty-net goal. Valtteri Filppula and Ondrej Palat each had a goal, Alex Killorn and Teddy Purcell had two assists apiece and Anders Lindback made 12 saves for Tampa Bay.

Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and an assist while Olli Jokinen also tallied for Winnipeg, which dropped its fourth consecutive game. Ondrej Pavelec made 29 saves and had an assist for the Jets, who were outshot 16-5 in the third period.

Filppula and Jokinen, who were both named to Finland’s Olympic team on Tuesday, traded goals in the first period. Filppula dipped inside near the right circle and beat Pavelec 1:20 into the game and Jokinen finished a cross-ice feed by Mark Scheifele on a 5-on-3 power play at 16:43.

Byfuglien scored from the right circle with the man advantage 4:45 into the middle session before Palat tied the game with 4:23 left in the second after a nifty feed from Nikita Kucherov. The Lightning took the lead when St. Louis deflected home defenseman Victor Hedman’s shot at the right post.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Palat extended his career-best point streak to seven games - the longest in the league this season by a rookie. … Lightning C Steven Stamkos, recovering from a broken tibia, was named to the Canadian Olympic roster while D Sami Salo joined Filppula on the Finnish team and RW Richard Panik was picked to the Slovakian team on Tuesday. … Winnipeg RW Blake Wheeler registered an assist on Byfuglien’s goal for his 14th point in the last 10 games against Tampa Bay.
