Predators 3, Kings 2: Mike Fisher scored his second goal of the contest with 27 seconds remaining in the third period as host Nashville posted its first win in six games (1-4-1).

Patric Hornqvist recorded a goal and an assist while rookie Marek Mazanec finished with 26 saves for the Predators, who collected five of a possible six points against Los Angeles this season.

Anze Kopitar scored a goal and set up another, Jeff Carter also tallied and Ben Scrivens turned aside 28 shots for the Kings, who have dropped two in a row after winning nine of their previous 10 contests.

Carter forged a 2-2 tie with 37 seconds remaining in the third with a quick wrist shot from the right faceoff circle, but Nashville responded in short order. Colin Wilson wristed a centering feed to Fisher, whose shot from in close slipped past Scrivens and trickled just over the goal line.

With Tyler Toffoli serving a holding penalty, Nashville seized a 2-1 lead by converting its fifth power-play opportunity. The Predators caught Los Angeles on a line change and Fisher - who also had an assist - hustled across the blue line and unleashed a blast from above the circles that beat Scrivens.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nashville opened the scoring 14:42 into the first period as Fisher's shot from the right circle produced a juicy rebound for Hornqvist, who backhanded the puck past Scrivens for his first goal since Dec. 12. Kopitar answered 7:05 into the second with a slick wrist shot from the top of the right circle. ... Los Angeles D Willie Mitchell (upper body) returned to the lineup and logged nearly 20 1/2 minutes of ice time. ... Kings D Drew Doughty notched an assist for the third straight game.
