Penguins 3, Maple Leafs 1: Captain Sidney Crosby snapped a tie with 6:03 remaining in the third period as host Pittsburgh remained red-hot.

Crosby extended his point streak to seven games for the Penguins, who have won four straight and nine of 10. Chris Conner added a first-period goal, Brandon Sutter tacked on an empty-netter and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 25 shots to earn the victory.

Morgan Rielly's first NHL goal provided the only offense for Toronto, which fell to 3-7-2 in its last 12 games. Jonathan Bernier made 28 saves in defeat.

Conner put Pittsburgh ahead just 39 seconds into the game, as defenseman Brian Dumoulin's shot from well inside the blue line caromed off him and past Bernier. Rielly evened things during a man advantage 6:03 into the second, gathering a pass at center ice before gaining the Pittsburgh zone and wristing a shot that fooled Fleury on the blocker side.

After failing to take advantage of a power play early in the third, the Penguins finally jumped back ahead on Crosby's 19th of the season. The NHL scoring leader accepted a pass by Pascal Dupuis from the side boards before skating untouched through the slot and whistling a point-blank shot past Bernier.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dumoulin's first-period assist was his first career point. ... Maple Leafs rookie RW Jerry D'Amigo left in the third period after taking a hit to the head from Penguins D Robert Bortuzzo. D'Amigo returned later in the session, only to be rocked again by Bortuzzo. ... Toronto has allowed a league-high seven empty-net goals.
