Blue Jackets 2, Flames 1 (OT): Defenseman Nikita Nikitin scored his first goal of the season 2:25 into overtime as visiting Columbus rebounded from a lopsided rout to post just its third win in 12 games (3-6-3).

Artem Anisimov skated up the left wing before being denied by Reto Berra on his point-blank shot from the slot. A scramble ensued and the puck caromed off a Calgary defender to Nikitin, who fired a shot from the left circle into the open net.

Nick Foligno scored after labeling his team's performance as "embarrassing" following Tuesday's 7-0 setback to Edmonton. Nikitin also notched an assist and Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 23 shots for the Blue Jackets.

Berra finished with 16 saves - including one that resembled a bicycle kick nearly seven minutes into the first period. Calgary native Joe Colborne scored to forge a 1-1 tie 3 1/2 minutes into the third for the Flames, who fell for the seventh time in eight contests (1-5-2).

Foligno opened the scoring 9:21 into the first period after taking a slick feed from R.J. Umberger before unleashing a shot from the top edge of the left circle that sailed over the left shoulder of Berra. With his parents in attendance, Colborne knotted the contest early in the third after fending off Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson before his backhander beat Bobrovsky for his second goal of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Berra preserved a scoreless tie after making an improbable save on Johnson's bid from the left circle. The netminder lifted his right pad to swat the puck and thwart a power-play chance. ... Blue Jackets D Dalton Prout was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Thursday. He's eligible to return for Friday's game versus Vancouver. ... Calgary permitted the first goal for the 15th time in 22 contests this season.
