Blue Jackets 4, Senators 1: Ryan Johansen and defenseman Fedor Tyutin each scored and set up a power-play goal and R.J. Umberger also tallied with the man advantage as Columbus snapped its six-game road winless streak (0-4-2).

Derek MacKenzie added an even-strength goal and Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 29 shots for the Blue Jackets, who posted their first road victory since a 4-1 triumph at Buffalo on Oct. 10.

Columbus opened the scoring 4:50 into the first period as defenseman Ryan Murray deftly back-handed a cross-slot feed to Johansen, who patiently sized up his shot from the right faceoff circle before slapping the puck past Craig Anderson (18 saves).

Johansen played a role in his team's second goal at 4:13 of the second session, as his wrist shot from the right circle handcuffed Anderson. The puck sailed skyward before Umberger batted it home for his fifth tally of the season. Tyutin gave Columbus a 3-0 lead nearly eight minutes later, blasting a shot from the high slot past Anderson while his team was on a 5-on-3 power play.

MacKenzie scored at 5:27 of the third before Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson tallied during a 5-on-3 advantage with 2:27 remaining to spoil Bobrovsky's bid for his fifth career shutout - and first of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Columbus rookie C Boone Jenner returned to the lineup and skated on the team's top line. Jenner, who had been sidelined since Oct. 25 with a leg injury, nearly scored early in the second period but hit the crossbar. ... The Blue Jackets, who finished 3-for-5 on the power play, were 3-for-27 over their previous nine contests. ... Prior to the game, Columbus recalled RW Jack Skille from Springfield of the American Hockey League.
