Devils 5, Predators 0: Jaromir Jagr eclipsed the 1,700 career point mark and fellow future Hall-of-Famer Martin Brodeur posted his NHL-record 123rd blanking as host New Jersey handed Nashville its second straight shutout loss.

Jagr and defenseman Marek Zidlicky each recorded a goal and an assist while Cam Janssen, Travis Zajac and Mattias Tedenby also scored for the Devils, who have allowed one tally during their three-game point streak (2-0-1).

Brodeur needed to make only 15 saves to register his second consecutive shutout, turning aside six shots in the first period, four in the second and five in the third. The four-time Vezina Trophy winner scratched Nashville off his list, leaving San Jose and Edmonton as the only teams he has not blanked in his career.

Jagr gave Brodeur all the offensive support he needed 90 seconds into the game, grabbing the puck above the right faceoff circle and skating across the top of the slot before beating Carter Hutton for his fifth goal. The veteran Czech added his 1,701st point with an assist on Zajac's tally with 7:03 left in the third period.

New Jersey scored twice in the second session to take control. Janssen buried the rebound of Ryan Carter's backhander from the doorstep at 2:54 and Zidlicky blasted a shot past a screened Hutton (18 saves) during a power play less than six minutes later for a 3-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: RW Patric Hornqvist registered a team-high four shots for the Predators, who are 2-2-1 on their season-high seven-game road trip. ... Zidlicky's goal came just five seconds after Nashville rookie D Seth Jones was called for hooking. ... Brodeur also shut out the Flyers in Philadelphia on Thursday, while the Predators were blanked at Winnipeg the following night.
