Defenseman Victor Hedman netted a third-period goal and added an assist while Ben Bishop turned aside 38 shots for Tampa Bay, which improved to 4-0-0 against Western Conference opponents.

Captain Jonathan Toews was credited with the tying goal with 1:49 remaining in the third period after a back pass deflected off defenseman Radko Gudas’ stick and past Bishop. Toews and Patrick Kane each had a goal and an assist while former Tampa Bay star Nikolai Khabibulin made 19 saves for Chicago, which extended its point streak to seven games (5-0-2).

Bishop stopped all 12 shots he faced in the first period and defenseman Matt Carle’s screen shot from the high slot on the power play at 6:28 gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead. Nate Thompson doubled the advantage 1:24 into the second, sweeping in a feed from B.J. Crombeen during a short-handed 2-on-1 rush.

Bryan Bickell knocked home a rebound nine minutes into the second and Marian Hossa deflected Patrick Sharp’s shot past Bishop 1:36 later to tie the game at 2-2. Stamkos beat Khabibulin to the stick side at 17:21 of the period, but Kane forged a tie on the breakaway 1:32 later.
