Blues 7, Panthers 0: Jaden Schwartz scored during a four-goal second-period blitz and added two assists as host St. Louis steamrolled Florida.

Jaroslav Halak turned aside 19 shots for his 26th career shutout - and franchise-best 17th with the Blues - to improve to 8-1-0 lifetime against the Panthers. Brenden Morrow notched his 250th career goal and joined Derek Roy and Vladimir Tarasenko with a tally and an assist apiece to power St. Louis to its second victory in as many games.

Alexander Steen converted a penalty shot and Ryan Reaves and Patrik Berglund also scored for St. Louis, which poured in four goals in a span of 6:32 in the second period to turn the game into a rout.

Morrow's power-play tally was the only goal in the first 20 minutes, but the Blues erupted against Panthers goaltender Tim Thomas in the middle session. Tarasenko converted a rebound at 12:31, Schwartz and Roy tallied 65 seconds apart and Steen beat Thomas on a penalty shot with 57 seconds left in the period to make it 5-0.

Reaves and Berglund completed the assault against backup Jacob Markstrom in the opening 4:09 of the final period to deny Florida's bid for its first 2-0-0 start since the 2005-06 season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Halak's 17th shutout with the Blues moved him past Hall-of-Famer Glenn Hall (1967-71). ... St. Louis RW Chris Stewart and Reaves and RW Krys Barch of the Panthers were all sent to the locker room after drawing 10-minute misconducts with just over nine minutes left in the contest. They were followed off the ice later in the period by St. Louis C David Backes and Florida D Erik Gudbranson and C Jesse Winchester... Steen's penalty shot was the third consecutive successful conversion and seventh in the last eight chances by St. Louis.
