Canucks 3, Blues 2: Daniel Sedin snapped an eight-game goal-scoring drought and added an assist as host Vancouver held on to defeat St. Louis.

Jannik Hansen and Dale Weise also scored for the Canucks, who won for just the third time in nine games (3-4-2). Cory Schneider made 32 saves in his first start in five contests.

Rookie Jake Allen stopped 16 shots in losing for the first time in six starts since being recalled from the American Hockey League. Jaden Schwartz and Patrik Berglund scored in the third period to cut the deficit to one, but the Blues were unable to get the equalizer as their three-game winning streak came to an end.

Hansen opened the scoring early in the second with a bullet of a slap shot from the top of the right faceoff circle. Sedin made it 2-0 less than two minutes later, when captain Henrik Sedin found him with a pass through the slot.

Weise extended the lead with 8:45 left in the period, converting a feed from rookie Jordan Schroeder. Schwartz tipped rookie Vladimir Tarasenko’s shot past Schneider 5:46 into the third and Berglund buried a rebound with 6:22 remaining to tie Chris Stewart for the team lead with 14 goals as St. Louis outshot Vancouver 13-2 in the final session.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Emotions ran high as Stewart fought Vancouver's Zack Kassian 2:41 into the game and St. Louis' Ryan Reaves dropped the gloves with Tom Sestito on the faceoff following Hansen's goal. … St. Louis D Alex Pietrangelo, who missed Saturday’s game with the flu, led the team with 25 minutes of ice time and finished minus-1. … Allen fell to 8-2-0 in two stints with the Blues. He is 13-20-2 with the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen.
