Coyotes 5, Ducks 3: Radim Vrbata recorded his fourth career hat trick and Jason LaBarbera turned aside 43 shots as visiting Phoenix upended Pacific Division champion Anaheim for the third time in four meetings.

Kyle Chipchura and Antoine Vermette also scored and defenseman Keith Yandle notched a pair of assists - one day after setting up three goals in a 5-4 shootout loss to Colorado. Martin Hanzal also had two assists and captain Shane Doan added one to move within two points of tying Thomas Steen (817) for second place on the Coyotes' all-time points list.

Teemu Selanne netted his 675th career goal and defenseman Francois Beauchemin and Bobby Ryan also tallied for the Ducks, who will open the postseason against seventh-seeded Detroit. The Red Wings secured a playoff berth for the 22nd consecutive season with a 3-0 triumph over Dallas on Saturday.

After opening the scoring by cleaning up a rebound, Vrbata repeated the feat to give Phoenix a 3-2 lead at 6:46 of the second. Doan's bid from the left faceoff circle handcuffed Viktor Fasth (26 saves) before Vrbata deftly batted the puck out of the air and into the net.

Vrbata completed the hat trick at 7:43 of the third with a short-handed goal from inside the left circle. Ryan trimmed the deficit just under two minutes later after redirecting captain Ryan Getzlaf's feed, but Anaheim failed to net the equalizer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phoenix posted a pair of 5-4 shootout victories over Anaheim before the Ducks rebounded with a 2-0 triumph in a rare three-game regular-season series in early March. ... Beauchemin's goal 14 seconds into the second period gave the Ducks a power-play goal in each of their last four games and five of six. ... Anaheim D Luca Sbisa missed the contest with a lower-body injury.
