Panthers 5, Lightning 3: Tomas Fleischmann scored his second goal to snap a tie with 6:07 remaining in the third period and Nick Bjugstad added his first career tally as visiting Florida rallied past Tampa Bay.

Martin St. Louis had staked the Lightning to a 3-2 lead with a goal and assist and wrapped up his second NHL scoring title (2004). The 37-year-old St. Louis, who finished with 60 points (17 goals, 43 assists), became the oldest player to win the Art Ross Trophy. Defenseman Matt Carle and Ryan Malone also scored for Tampa Bay and Steven Stamkos had an assist to finish with 57 points.

Scottie Upshall tied the game at 3-3 on a rebound 5:30 into the third, Fleischmann swept home a cross-ice pass by rookie Jonathan Huberdeau (three assists) for the winner and Marcel Goc added an empty-netter for the Panthers.

Carle’s low shot from the left point beat Florida goalie Jacob Markstrom (28 saves) just inside the right post five minutes into the game and Malone popped in a juicy rebound at 13:14. Bjugstad ripped a shot that went through Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman’s legs and into the right corner of the net 3:40 later to cut the lead in half.

Fleischmann beat Lightning goalie Anders Lindback (27 saves) from the right faceoff circle 54 seconds into the second session to tie the game at 2-2. St. Louis recorded the go-ahead goal almost five minutes later, knocking home a rebound in the crease for a 3-2 lead.
