Blues 4, Sharks 2: Chris Stewart recorded his second two-goal performance and rookie Jake Allen made 39 saves as St. Louis began its three-game homestand by extending San Jose's winless streak to four games.

David Perron and Chris Porter also scored while defenseman Barret Jackman added a pair of assists for the Blues, who defeated the Sharks for the second time in four days.

Brent Burns and fellow defenseman Dan Boyle scored and Antti Niemi stopped 17 shots for San Jose, which fell to 0-2-2 in its last four contests and scored fewer than three goals for the 14th time in 15 games.

St. Louis opened the scoring with 6:18 remaining in the first period. Stewart carried the puck on a 2-on-1 and fired a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle that beat Niemi for his 10th goal.

Perron made it 2-0 midway through the second as Patrik Berglund's cross-slot pass from the right circle caromed off his skate and into the net. Burns, who returned from injury as a forward instead of at his usual spot on the blue line, halved the deficit 62 seconds later with a one-timer from above the slot that found its way between Allen's pads.

Porter restored the Blues' two-goal lead with seven seconds left in the period. Niemi stopped Jackman's backhander from the outer edge of the right circle, but Porter buried the rebound from the left circle for his first goal in 28 games.

Boyle got San Jose back within one just four seconds into a 5-on-3 advantage as he beat Allen with a one-timer with 6:28 to go in the third. But Stewart scored into an empty net to complete his first two-goal effort since the season opener and seal the victory.
