Flames 4, Sharks 1: Blake Comeau snapped a tie early in the third period and captain Jarome Iginla recorded a goal and an assist as host Calgary moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Roman Cervenka and Curtis Glencross also scored while Miikka Kiprusoff made 32 saves in his return from injury for the Flames (9-8-4), who improved to 4-1-1 in their last six games. Kiprusoff had missed 13 contests with a sprained MCL.

Captain Joe Thornton scored and Thomas Greiss stopped 22 shots in a rare start for San Jose, which has scored two goals or less in each of its last 12 games and 16 of 17.

Calgary registered only six shots in the third period but made half of them count.

With the game even at 1-1, Comeau unleashed a shot from the right faceoff circle that glanced off the stick of Sharks defenseman Matt Irwin and sailed past Greiss at 2:57. The goal, which came on the Flames' second shot of the session, ended Comeau's 24-game drought.

Just 99 seconds - and one shot on goal - later, Iginla beat Greiss with a wrist shot from the top of the slot following a turnover for his sixth goal in five games and a 3-1 lead. Glencross sealed the win in the final minute with a short-handed empty-netter.

Calgary got on the board less than 4 1/2 minutes into the contest as Cervenka buried the rebound of defenseman Jay Bouwmeester's shot at 4:27 for his first goal in nine games. Thornton forged a tie with 6:07 remaining in the second, converting a pass from Joe Pavelski while on the doorstep.
