Blackhawks 1, Blue Jackets 0: Andrew Shaw scored the lone goal and Corey Crawford made 28 saves in his return as host Chicago extended its record to 18 consecutive games with a point to start the season.

Bryan Bickell and defenseman Johnny Oduya each added an assist for the Blackhawks, who improved to 15-0-3 by posting their ninth straight victory over the Blue Jackets. Dating to the 2011-12 regular season, Chicago has gone 24 consecutive games without a regulation loss - the third-longest streak in NHL history.

Crawford returned from an upper-body injury that sidelined him for three games to post his seventh career shutout and second in his last three starts. The netminder stopped seven shots in the first period, 13 in the second and eight in the third.

Shaw gave Crawford all the offensive support he needed late in the second period. Bickell made a backhand pass from behind the net to the 21-year-old, who beat Steve Mason from the doorstep with 1:27 remaining in the period for his fourth goal of the season.

Mason finished with 26 saves for Columbus, which completed a 1-5-0 road trip. The Blue Jackets have not beaten the Blackhawks since posting a 4-3 victory on Feb. 18, 2011 in Chicago.
