Sharks 2, Blues 1: Tim Kennedy snapped a tie with 6:58 remaining in the third period and Antti Niemi made 25 saves as visiting San Jose ended its seven-game winless streak.

Captain Joe Thornton also scored for the Sharks, who had gone 0-4-3 since posting their season-opening seventh consecutive victory on Jan. 31. San Jose is 1-2-1 on its six-game road trip.

Tommy Wingels fired a lead pass that caromed off the left-wing boards and into the faceoff circle. Kennedy got to the puck and slapped it between rookie goaltender Jake Allen's left arm and body before it trickled across the goal line for his second tally of the season.

Patrik Berglund scored his team-leading ninth goal and Allen stopped 23 shots for the Blues, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

St. Louis, which arrived home early Tuesday morning after being stranded in Vancouver since Sunday due to mechanical issues with the team plane, got on the board first as Berglund extended his goal-scoring streak to four games. Vladimir Sobotka made a pass from the bottom of the right faceoff circle to Berglund, who tapped the puck past Niemi at 12:54 of the first period.

The Sharks pulled even early in the second on Thornton's fourth of the season. Allen made the save on defenseman Dan Boyle's shot from the slot, but Thornton buried the rebound at 3:55 to snap a nine-game drought.
