Mark Letestu opened the scoring 7:35 into the first period and Artem Anisimov brought the Blue Jackets within one late in the third, but Columbus remained winless in four games since defeating Nashville in a shootout in its season opener.

With Chicago up 2-1 in the third period, Marian Hossa stole the puck from Letestu before the Columbus center could clear the zone and sent it to Patrick Kane, who passed it to a wide-open Toews in the slot for the game-winner. Kane also assisted on Bolland’s goal and has seven on the season.

Steve Mason stopped 21 shots for the Blue Jackets.
