SABRES 2, DUCKS 0: Ryan Miller turned aside all 43 shots he faced - including 20 in the third period - and Derek Roy netted a power-play goal as visiting Buffalo continued its late-season surge toward a postseason berth.

Brad Boyes scored for the first time in 22 contests and defenseman Christian Ehrhoff notched a pair of assists for the Sabres, who improved to 9-3-3 in their last 15 games. Buffalo now sits five points behind the eighth-place Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference standings.

Roy opened the scoring 7:12 into the first period after collecting the puck off the end boards and beating Jonas Hiller from a sharp angle. The tally was Roy's 14th goal of the season.

Boyes doubled the advantage after tipping Ehrhoff's point shot past Hiller just as a power play was coming to an end. The tally was Boyes' fourth of the campaign and first since Dec. 31.

Hiller tied a franchise record with Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Guy Hebert by starting his 23rd consecutive game. The Swiss netminder finished with 22 saves for the Ducks, who fell to 6-3-2 in their last 11 overall and 9-2-1 in their last 12 at the Honda Center.
