Roberto Luongo turned aside all 28 shots he faced in his 700th career NHL regular-season game, shutting out the Minnesota Wild for the third straight time as the Vancouver Canucks skated to a 3-0 home triumph on Wednesday.

Daniel Sedin collected a goal and an assist, Alex Burrows and Manny Malhotra also scored and captain Henrik Sedin set up a pair of tallies to move past Philadelphia's Claude Giroux for the NHL's points lead (48).

Vancouver, which has a league-best 53 points, snapped a modest two-game slide and gained a bit of momentum heading into Saturday's Stanley Cup rematch with the Boston Bruins. The Canucks also pushed five points ahead of second-place Minnesota in the Northwest Division.

Luongo wasn't tested much after stopping 11 shots in the first period and cruised to his 57th career shutout. He continues to tame the Wild after stopping all 33 shots he faced in a 4-0 win over Minnesota on Dec. 19 and denying 29 shots in a 5-0 victory on April 7 of last season.

After netting his team-leading 18th goal of the season at 6:42 of the first period, Daniel Sedin set up Burrows on the doorstep for an easy tap-in midway just under four minutes later.

Devin Setoguchi tied a team-high with five shots in his return after a 12-game absence with a lower-body injury for Minnesota, which has mustered only 16 goals during its last 11 games (1-7-3). The Wild also fell to 0-8-2 in their last 10 at Rogers Arena.
