Jonathan Quick made 41 saves and also recorded an assist as the Los Angeles Kings extended their winning streak against the Florida Panthers to seven games with a 2-1 home victory on Thursday.

Defenseman Jack Johnson and captain Dustin Brown scored for Los Angeles, which improved to 2-1-0 on its four-game homestand. The Kings have won 14 of their last 17 contests against Southeast Division opponents.

Los Angeles center Mike Richards, who had scored seven goals in his previous seven contests, left the game in the second period with a possible concussion and did not return.

Quick had his quest for his second consecutive shutout and league-leading fifth of the season stopped with 4:21 to play in the second period, when Sean Bergenheim buried a rebound from the doorstep.

Johnson put the Kings ahead just 95 seconds into the game when his wrist shot from along the left-wing boards caromed off Florida defenseman Mike Weaver's stick and past Jose Theodore. It was the fifth goal of the season for Johnson, matching his total for 2010-11.

Brown doubled the lead by beating Theodore from the left faceoff circle during a power play with less than six minutes remaining in the second period.

Theodore stopped 24 shots for the Panthers, who have lost five of their last six visits to Los Angeles. Florida fell to 1-2-0 on its four-game road trip.
