Chris Kunitz tallied twice and Tyler Kennedy set up three goals as the Pittsburgh Penguins skated to a 5-1 home triumph over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.

Jordan Staal and Max Talbot collected a goal and an assist apiece and defenseman Zbynek Michalek also scored for Pittsburgh (40-22-8), which moved to within three points of the Atlantic Division-leading Philadelphia Flyers (42-19-7).

Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 28 shots for the Penguins, who won for just the sixth time in 17 games (6-7-4).

Kunitz opened the scoring with 35 seconds remaining in the first period after backhanding a shot past Devan Dubnyk for his first goal since missing 13 games with an undisclosed injury.

Talbot and Staal netted their respective eighth tallies of the season in the second period to give Pittsburgh a 3-0 advantage.

Ryan Jones collected his 16th goal of the season and Dubnyk finished with 28 saves for Edmonton (23-38-9), which has scored just three goals during its four-game losing skid.
