Martin Erat collected a pair of power-play goals and rookie Anders Lindback turned aside 15 shots as the visiting Nashville Predators skated to a 3-1 triumph over the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
Steve Sullivan netted his team-leading ninth goal of the season and defensemen Shea Weber and Ryan Suter notched two assists apiece as Nashville (17-8-6) secured its fifth straight victory.
Sullivan opened the scoring with 17 seconds remaining in the first period - with Weber earning the lone assist. The blue-liner then doubled his scoring output by collecting the secondary assist on Erat's power-play tally 4:56 into the second period.
Suter got in on the fun at 4:55 of the third, setting up Erat for his second tally of the night and fifth of the season.
The offensive outburst was more than enough for Lindback, who improved to 6-0-1 with a pair of shutouts since Pekka Rinne went down with a left knee injury. The 22-year-old Swede upped his season record to 9-1-2.
Rookie Mattias Tedenby ended Lindback's bid for his third career shutout with a power-play goal 7:06 into the third period for New Jersey (9-20-2), which has dropped six of its last seven outings.
Martin Brodeur finished with 17 saves to fall to 5-13-1 this season.
