Steven Stamkos tallied twice - including the game-winner just 34 seconds into overtime - as the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning skated to a 5-4 triumph over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
Teddy Purcell had a goal and an assist and defenseman Brett Clark and Nate Thompson also tallied for Tampa Bay (16-10-4), which salvaged the finale of their three-game swing through Western Canada.
Dan Ellis turned aside 23 shots to improve to 8-5-4 this season for the Lightning, who allowed three or more goals for the ninth straight game. In that stretch, Tampa Bay is 4-3-2.
With the Lightning on a power play which carried over from the third period and into overtime, Stamkos netted his 24th goal of the season after accepting a feed in the high slot from Martin St. Louis.
Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin collected a goal and an assist apiece and Manny Malhotra also tallied for Vancouver (15-8-4), which raised former captain Markus Naslund's No. 19 jersey to the rafters prior to the contest.
The team's all-time leader in points with 756, Naslund retired following the 2008 season after collecting 346 goals and 410 assists in 12 seasons with the Canucks.
Rookie backup goaltender Cory Schneider, who also notched a pair of assists, turned aside 18 shots to fall to 3-0-2 this season. Schneider was in net in place of Roberto Luongo, who was receiving a rest after making nine consecutive starts.
