The Minnesota Wild received 37 saves from goaltender Niklas Backstrom and three assists from Martin Havlat to earn a 4-1 win on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday.

Backstrom picked up his seventh win of the season while Cal Clutterbuck, John Madden, Antti Miettinen and Eric Nystrom scored for Minnesota, which handed the Lightning their third consecutive loss.

Minnesota scored three times in the first period, connecting twice on the power play. Clutterbuck opened the scoring 7:16 into the game from Matt Cullen and Havlat, but Martin St. Louis evened the score when he ripped a slap shot from the right point past Backstrom on the power play.

Madden restored the lead at 12:55 of the period with his third goal of the season as Havlat and Marek Zidlicky drew assists. It was Zidlicky’s first game back after he sat out the club’s previous three games with a lower-body injury.

Miettinen then ripped a shot over Dan Ellis’ shoulder with 30 seconds left in the first, converting a pretty passing play from Andrew Brunette and Mikko Koivu. Nystrom added an empty-net goal with 48 seconds left.

Ellis made 14 saves for Tampa Bay.
