Captain Jonathan Toews had two goals and two assists and Viktor Stalberg scored in the fifth round of the shootout to give the visiting Chicago Blackhawks a 5-4 win over the Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday night.

Patrick Kane added two goals and an assist and veteran Marty Turco made 33 saves while allowing just one goal in the shootout for the Blackhawks, who snapped a two-game losing skid.

Chicago had a 2-1 lead at the first intermission on power-play goals from Toews and Kane after Nik Antropov opened the scoring 3:14 into the game with a power-play goal for Atlanta. The Thrashers added three more in the second, two with the man advantage.

Evander Kane and rookie Alex Burmistrov scored 55 seconds apart early in the second, forcing Chicago coach Joel Quenneville to call a timeout.

Toews responded with a breakaway goal 45 seconds later. Rich Peverley scored to pull Atlanta back in front, but Patrick Kane scored again before the second intermission to even it at 4-4.

Ondrej Pavelec made 36 saves for the Thrashers.
