Derick Brassard and Jakub Voracek each had a goal and an assist while Mathieu Garon made 25 saves as the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets skated to a 3-0 triumph over the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday.
R.J. Umberger added an empty-netter for the Blue Jackets, who have won five of their last six games and five straight meetings with the Thrashers.
Brassard gave Columbus a 1-0 lead at 4:46 of the second period, beating Ondrej Pavelec with a snap shot for his fifth tally of the season. Voracek created some breathing room midway through the third by deflecting defenseman Marc Methot's slapper from the right point past Pavelec's glove.
Garon turned aside eight shots in both the first and third periods while stopping nine in the second en route to his second consecutive shutout and the 18th of his career. The 32-year old, who blanked Montreal on Tuesday, lowered his goals-against average to 0.89 for the season.
Pavelec made 39 saves for the Thrashers, who allowed 42 shots on goal one night after surrendering 55 in a victory over Florida.
