Dylan Larkin scored two goals and Alex Lyon made 28 saves to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night.
Jake Walman, Joe Veleno and Andrew Copp also scored for Detroit, which improved to 9-2-1 in its past 12 games. Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond each added two assists.
Ivan Barbashev and Paul Cotter scored and Alec Martinez had two assists for Vegas, which had its six-game point streak (5-0-1) come to an end. Logan Thompson stopped 24 of 28 shots while losing his fourth straight road start for the Golden Knights, who don't play again until Feb. 6 in Las Vegas when they try to snap Edmonton's 16-game winning streak.
Larkin extended his point streak to 11 games with his 200th career goal as Detroit jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 5:04 mark of the first period. The score came at the end of a three-on-one rush following a Barbashev turnover, with Larkin snapping a shot from the slot into the top left corner of the net.
Walman made it 2-0 just 1:56 later when he blasted a slap shot from the top of the left circle past Thompson's glove side for his 10th goal of the season.
Vegas rallied to tie it later in the period with two goals in a span of 2:53.
Barbashev got the first marker with a diving one-armed rebound of a Nicolas Roy shot that he swept through Lyon's pads for his 13th goal of the season. Cotter followed with his first goal in 16 games, deflecting a Martinez slap shot from the left point.
Detroit regained the lead, 3-2, at the 18:17 mark on a power-play goal by Veleno, who fired a snap shot from the bottom of the right circle for his ninth goal.
Copp made it 4-2 just past the midpoint of the third period with a snap shot from the left circle for his 10th goal.
The Golden Knights pulled Thompson for an extra attacker, and Larkin sealed the win for the Red Wings with an empty-netter with 1:30 to go. It was Larkin's 22nd goal of the campaign.
