Kris Letang scored off a two-on-one 31 seconds into overtime and Sidney Crosby scored his 500th career goal as the host Pittsburgh Penguins won their fourth in a row, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 on Tuesday.

Dominik Simon, Jake Guentzel and Chad Ruhwedel also scored for the Penguins. Letang and Crosby each added an assist, and Pittsburgh goaltender Casey DeSmith made 23 saves. The Penguins rallied from a two-goal, third-period deficit by scoring twice in 18 seconds.

Scott Laughton had a goal and an assist and Claude Giroux, Nick Seeler and Justin Braun also scored for Flyers, who lost their third straight (0-2-1). James van Riemsdyk logged two assists, and Philadelphia goalie Carter Hart stopped 29 shots.

Giroux opened the scoring at 13:47 of the first period. On a short two-on-one, he took a pass from Cam Atkinson, and from the left hash marks, wristed the puck past Jarry's glove.

Pittsburgh tied it 22 seconds later. Simon extended his stick to deflect in a Marcus Pettersson shot.

On a power play, Crosby gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead at 16:34 of the first with his milestone goal. He took a feed from Evgeni Malkin, and from a sharp angle to Hart's left, flipped the puck off the goalie and in.

He is the second active player (Washington's Alex Ovechkin), the 46th all-time player and the second Penguins player (Mario Lemieux) to reach 500 goals.

It also gave Crosby 50 career goals and 118 points in 79 games against the Flyers.

"It feels good," Crosby told AT&T Sportsnet. "I've been hovering around (it) for a little bit. Nice to get it. Glad to be at home to get it."

Laughton tied the game 57 seconds into the second period. In the high slot, he intercepted Bryan Rust's clearing attempt and rocketed in a high shot.

At 10:43 of the second, Seeler's third career goal and first of the season, a blast from the right point, gave the Flyers a 3-2 lead.

Braun launched a shot that went in off Pettersson to extend the margin to 4-2 at 17:09 of the second.

Guentzel closed the gap to 4-3 with a short-range, power-play goal at 12:36 of the third, and Ruhwedel tied it moments later with his first goal of the season, on a one-timer.
