Adrian Kempe scored two second-period goals as the Los Angeles Kings extended their winning streak to four games, and continued their recent road dominance, with a 4-1 victory Friday over the rival Anaheim Ducks.

Anze Kopitar and Carl Grundstrom also scored goals while Jonathan Quick made 24 saves as the Kings won their sixth consecutive road game and came on top for the sixth time in their last seven contests.

Los Angeles has earned points in 10 consecutive games away from home (8-0-2) as it moved into second place in the Pacific Division. The Kings won without head coach Todd McLellan, who was placed into COVID-19 protocol before the game.

Troy Terry scored a goal for the Ducks while John Gibson made 16 saves as Anaheim lost for the fifth time in its last seven games. Gibson was replaced late in the second period by Anthony Stolarz, who stopped all 12 shots he faced.

The Kings' victory avenged a 5-4 shootout loss to the Ducks on Nov. 30. The teams don't meet again until they play each other twice over the last five games of the season.

Grundstrom gave the Kings a 1-0 lead 7:50 into the game when he redirected a hard pass from Quinton Byfield past Gibson for his seventh of the season.

The Kings' leading goal scorer and their top assist man teamed up early in the second period in a four-on-four situation. Kempe pushed his team-leading goal total to 24 while Kopitar added his team-best 34th assist as Los Angeles took a 2-0 lead 3:51 into the period.

Kopitar added a goal of his own at 10:11 of the second, his 15th, while Kempe returned the assist favor, as the Kings took a 3-0 lead.

The advantage became 4-0 on a short-handed goal less than three minutes later when Kempe scored unassisted after he corralled a loose puck in the Ducks' zone and fired a shot from the top of the right circle past a screened Gibson.

Terry ended the Kings' bid for a shutout when he scored 2:12 into the third period, his team-leading 27th of the season.
