Dylan Larkin scored his fifth goal in the last five games for the Red Wings but did not play in the third period due to an undisclosed injury. Filip Zadina also scored for the Red Wings and Alex Nedeljkovic made 25 saves.

Shots on goal were even at 30 and only two penalties were called.

Suter scored the lone goal of the first period. His second goal of the season came on a straight-on blast just outside the slot through traffic. Radek Faksa set him up, and Robertson collected the second assist at 13:33 left in the period.

Dallas outshot Detroit 12-4 in the period.

Benn made it 2-0 just 1:06 into the second period. He redirected Miro Heiskanen's shot from the point past Nedeljkovic.

Hintz scored at 7:24 of the period with a shot from the slot that he lifted over the right shoulder of Nedeljkovic. Esa Lindell had the assist on the goal, passing the puck from the point.

Detroit got on the board at 9:09 with Zadina's third goal this season. He shoveled in a backhander off Sam Gagner's pass. Marc Staal was credited with the second assist.

The Red Wings took advantage of their only power play and cut Dallas' lead to one. With John Klingberg in the penalty box for tripping, Larkin lifted a shot from the left circle over Oettinger's left shoulder. Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond had the assists.

Robertson scored his first goal of the game at 3:48 of the third period, on a wraparound that beat Nedeljkovic through the five-hole. He added an empty-netter to clinch Dallas' victory.
