Kris Letang scored at 1:54 of overtime Thursday and the undermanned Pittsburgh Penguins downed the visiting Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 to snap a three-game losing streak.

Philadelphia goaltender Carter Hart appeared to stop Letang's wraparound attempt, but upon review officials ruled the puck crossed the goal line.

Letang was making his return from a four-game absence with COVID-19.

Brock McGinn and Jake Guentzel also scored for the Penguins.

Pittsburgh goaltender Tristan Jarry made 36 saves.

Travis Konecny and Scott Laughton scored, and Carter made 33 saves for the Flyers.

The Penguins are depleted by COVID-19. Since their previous game Saturday, captain and center Sidney Crosby, defensemen Brian Dumoulin, Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel, and, just hours before Thursday's game, coach Mike Sullivan tested positive for the virus. All are in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.

Crosby, Pettersson and Sullivan are experiencing symptoms, the team said. Assistant Todd Reirden subbed for Sullivan.

The Penguins took a 1-0 lead 16 seconds into regulation. Mike Matheson took a shot from the left point. McGinn cut from the far side across the top of the crease and deftly deflected the puck backward and between his skates past Hart's glove.

Philadelphia kicked things up the rest of the first, gaining a 17-8 edge in shots - the most shots given up by Pittsburgh in any period this season - but Jarry held strong.

The Flyers tied it at 7:37 of the second on a power play. Konecny, next to the right goalpost, took a feed from Claude Giroux, spun from his forehand to his backhand and lifted the puck short side over Jarry's shoulder.

Pittsburgh regained the lead at 11:46 of the second. Guentzel, from near the top of the left circle, initially fanned on a shot. He reached back to regain possession and scored with teammate Jeff Carter screening Hart.

Laughton tied it with 2:52 left in regulation. James van Riemsdyk intercepted a pass behind the Penguins net and sent a feed into the slot, where Laughton rifled it past Jarry's glove to make it 2-2.
