Jason Spezza scored a first-period goal, Jack Campbell earned his second shutout of the season and the Toronto Maple Leafs went on to defeat the visiting Calgary Flames 2-0 on Saturday night.
Zach Hyman also scored for the Maple Leafs, who won for the second time in eight games and ended a three-game losing streak.
The teams split the two-game set as the Flames lost for the second time in the past six games under new coach Darryl Sutter, who is 4-3-1 overall.
Toronto has won four of the six games between the teams this season.
Campbell stopped 31 shots in earning his fourth career shutout. He was making his fourth start of the season and had not played because of a leg injury since he earned a shutout on Feb. 27 at Edmonton.
Calgary backup goaltender David Rittich stopped 31 of 33 shots.
Spezza scored his seventh goal of the season at 18:31 of the first period on a wrist shot from low in the left circle that found the top right corner. Jake Muzzin started the play with a takeaway to earn the only assist.
Toronto led 11-5 in shots on goal in the first period and had the only power play of the period.
Auston Matthews hit the post at 7:38 of the second period during a Toronto power play.
Toronto came close again with the teams at even strength when Muzzin hit the post at 8:13 at the second.
Toronto took a 2-0 lead on Hyman's 11th goal of the season at 16:28 of the second period. Hyman took a pass from John Tavares at the blue line as he skated down the right wing, circled behind the goal and fired a wrist shot from close range.
The Maple Leafs led 24-18 in shots on goal after two periods.
Matthews had a tip-in attempt go off the post at 10:05 of the third period as Toronto pressed for a third goal.
Rittich was removed for an extra attacker at 3:41 of the third.
