Corey Perry collected a goal and two assists and Ben Bishop made 38 saves as the Dallas Stars snapped a five-game winless streak with a 4-1 victory over the host Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Roope Hintz scored his team-leading sixth goal and defensemen Esa Lindell and Miro Heiskanen each tallied for the Stars, who recorded just their second win in 10 games this season (2-7-1).
Sean Couturier scored 43 seconds into the first period and Carter Hart turned aside 12 shots for the Flyers, who have lost four in a row (0-3-1) since winning their first two games of the season. The setback was just the second in their last nine home games against Dallas.
Hintz answered Couturier's early goal with his second in as many days. The 22-year-old Finn eluded former Stars defenseman Matt Niskanen with a nifty move before following up his own shot and tucking the puck past Hart at the seven-minute mark of the first period.
Dallas claimed a 2-1 lead nearly seven minutes later with a rarity for the club -- a power-play goal. The Stars entered the contest mired in a 1-for-25 rut with the man advantage.
Denis Gurianov wired a shot from the outer edge of the right circle that Lindell deflected past Hart for his first goal of the season. Lindell was able to get inside position on Niskanen in front of the net prior to the goal.
Perry doubled the advantage at 1:24 of the third period after skating in from the right-wing boards and backhanding the puck past Hart for his first goal of the season. The shot was Dallas' second since the start of the second period.
Philadelphia's bid to halve the deficit was thwarted as Heiskanen scored into the empty net with 1:55 remaining.
The Flyers benefited from a pretty passing sequence to open the scoring as Travis Konecny reeled in captain Claude Giroux's pass deep in the right circle before sending a cross-slot feed to Couturier. The 26-year-old Couturier wired a sharp-angle shot past Bishop for his second goal of the season.
