Pekka Rinne made 35 saves and picked up his league-leading eighth shutout to lead the Nashville Predators to a 4-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
Rinne (40-9-4) extended his personal win streak to 11 games. It was the 51st career shutout for Rinne, who also moved into a tie with Tampa Bay's Andrei Vasilevskiy for most victories in the NHL this season.
Nashville extended its franchise record for consecutive road contests with a point to 15 games (14-0-1).
Filip Forsberg had a goal and an assist, and Mike Fisher, Ryan Johansen and Ryan Hartman also scored for the Western Conference-leading Predators, who tied Tampa Bay for most road wins (23) in the NHL this season. Viktor Arvidsson added two assists for the Predators, who won their fourth straight game.
Linus Ullmark, an AHL All-Star at Rochester, made his second NHL start of the season and stopped 28 shots for Buffalo. Ullmark had 44 saves in a 3-1 victory over Columbus on Jan. 11.
Fisher, who returned to the active roster Feb. 28 after retiring six months earlier, scored his second goal of the season at the 12:29 mark of the second period, deflecting a shot from the high slot by Miikka Salomaki that dipped down past Ullmark's blocker side. Fisher was on the edge of the circle at the time of the goal jostling with Sabres defenseman Brendan Guhle. Buffalo challenged for goalie interference, but the goal stood after about a two-minute review.
Johansen extended Nashville's lead to 2-0, tapping in Forsberg's pass off a rebound of an Arvidsson shot into a wide-open left side of the net for his 12th goal of the season.
The Predators sealed the win with two goals in the final four minutes, the first by Forsberg on a rebound of an Arvidsson shot and the second by Hartman on a wrist shot from the right circle with 23.5 to go.
