Jets 5, Red Wings 4 (SO): Recently acquired Drew Stafford scored in regulation before netting the lone goal of the shootout in the fourth round to lift visiting Winnipeg.

Chris Thorburn, Blake Wheeler and captain Andrew Ladd tallied while Bryan Little and defensemen Tyler Myers and Dustin Byfuglien collected two assists apiece as the Jets won for the third time in four games. Rookie Michael Hutchinson made 25 saves before denying all four shots he faced in the bonus format, including the fourth-round chance by Stephen Weiss, to improve to a perfect 11-for-11 on shootout attempts.

Pavel Datsyuk netted a pair of goals and set up another, Darren Helm recorded a tally and an assist and defenseman Niklas Kronwall also scored as Detroit lost its second in a row following a three-game winning streak. Tomas Tatar notched a pair of assists and Jimmy Howard made 34 saves - including one on Mathieu Perreault's breakaway in overtime - in his first start since Jan. 10 but fell to 0-7 in shootouts this season.

Winnipeg opened the scoring on its first shot of the game as Thorburn deflected defenseman Jacob Trouba's blast between the pads of Howard at the 2:36 mark, but the Red Wings converted a 5-on-3 opportunity when Kronwall ripped a one-timer into the top right corner of the net with 3:06 left in the first period. Helm knocked in his own rebound during a man advantage two minutes into the second before his shot deflected off Datsyuk's arm and in nearly four minutes later for a 3-1 lead.

The Jets stormed back as Wheeler poked home a rebound after Howard denied Myers on a rush at 7:04 before Stafford's backhander from the bottom of the left faceoff circle during a man advantage handcuffed Howard and trickled in less than three minutes later to knot it at 3-3. Ladd put Winnipeg ahead with a power-play tally just over 4 1/2 minutes into the third, but Datsyuk buried a wrister from the slot with 6:33 remaining for the equalizer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Myers, acquired from Buffalo along with Stafford, recorded his first multi-point performance since collecting a pair of assists against Anaheim on Nov. 18. ... Helm scored for the fourth time in six games to match his career high of 12 tallies while Datsyuk halted his nine-game goalless drought. ... Thorburn, who became the franchise's all-time leader in penalty minutes last week, notched his 100th point at a member of the Thrashers/Jets.
