Canadiens 4, Devils 2: Michael Bournival recorded his first career two-goal performance and Carey Price registered his 200th victory as visiting Montreal extended its winning streak to five games.

Max Pacioretty scored on the power play and Tomas Plekanec added an empty-net tally as the Canadiens won for the eighth time in nine games. Defenseman P.K. Subban collected three assists and Price, appearing in his 400th game, turned aside 22 shots to win his fourth start in a row.

Michael Ryder snapped a 21-game goalless drought and Mike Cammalleri also tallied for New Jersey, which tumbled to its 10th loss in 12 contests (2-7-3). Rookie Keith Kinkaid made 22 saves in his fourth career start.

Bournival was credited with the opening goal 6 1/2 minutes into the second period, when his centering feed went off the skate of Devils defenseman Jon Merrill and into the net. Pacioretty doubled the lead in the final minute of the session, ripping a shot off Kinkaid's glove from the right faceoff circle.

Bournival converted a rebound in front at 2:47 of the third to extend the lead to 3-0, but Ryder beat Price from the right circle 34 seconds later for his first tally since Nov. 6. Cammalleri knocked in his own rebound with 5:49 left to cut the deficit to a goal, but Plekanec iced it with 27 seconds remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Canadiens RW PA Parenteau was leveled by Devils C Tim Sestito on an open-ice hit midway through the second period and did not return, while New Jersey D Peter Harrold exitied the game after taking a stick to the face midway through the first session. ... Canadiens C Alex Galchenyuk picked up his 16th assist on Pacioretty's tally, moving within two of his career high from each of the previous two seasons. ... Devils LW Patrik Elias and Ryder, who both had the mumps, returned to the lineup along with RW Martin Havlat (illness), but D Eric Gelinas was sidelined due to an illness.
