Penguins 1, Devils 0: Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 29 saves to record his league-leading fifth shutout and Evgeni Malkin scored early in the third period as Pittsburgh posted its 10th victory in 12 home meetings with New Jersey.

Blake Comeau notched an assist for the Penguins, who have won four of their last five contests and also claimed the first matchup between the Metropolitan Division rivals on Oct. 28 with an 8-3 rout. Jayson Megna also was credited with setting up Malkin's goal after being inserted into the lineup in place of Chris Kunitz, who sat out with an undisclosed injury.

Cory Schneider turned aside 22 shots for the Devils, who have dropped five in a row overall (0-3-2) and nine of their last 11 on the road (2-8-1). To add injury to insult, future Hall-of-Famer Jaromir Jagr exited after absorbing a vicious hit to the head from Pittsburgh defenseman Robert Bortuzzo late in the second period, while Stephen Gionta and Patrik Elias also left with undisclosed ailments.

All three injured Devils did not return to the contest and Malkin netted the game's lone goal 2:32 into the third period. After reeling in Comeau's spinning turnaround feed from deep in the left faceoff circle, the former Hart Trophy recipient made no mistake by sliding the puck under Schneider for his team-leading 12th goal.

Fleury received help from the post on Damien Brunner's shot late in the first period before keeping New Jersey at bay the rest of the way. The netminder turned aside 24 shots over the final 40 minutes to extend his franchise record with his 33rd career shutout.
