Kings 6, Oilers 1: The line of Jeff Carter, Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson combined for four goals and three assists as host Los Angeles extended its winning streak against Edmonton to seven games.

Pearson scored two goals and set up another while Carter and Toffoli each notched a tally and an assist for the Kings, who improved to 2-0-0 on their six-game homestand and 9-0-1 in their last 10 overall meetings with Edmonton. Reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner Justin Williams and captain Dustin Brown also scored while Jonathan Quick made 31 saves for Los Angeles, which was without Marian Gaborik due to an undisclosed injury.

Matt Hendricks netted the lone goal and Viktor Fasth allowed three goals on 11 shots in the first period for the Oilers before exiting with a groin injury. Former King Ben Scrivens made 12 saves over the final 40 minutes for Edmonton, which fell to 0-1-1 on its three-game road trip.

Dubbed "That 70s Line" during the Kings' run to the Stanley Cup championship last postseason because of their uniform numbers, the trio of Pearson (70), Toffoli (73) and Carter (77) got things started 3:06 into the game as the latter beat Fasth with a quick shot from the right faceoff circle. Williams made it 2-0 just 1:15 later and Toffoli extended the lead at 9:49 with a shot from the left circle while short-handed.

Brown tapped in a pass from Trevor King at 5:04 of the second and Pearson created a turnover behind the net before firing the puck past Scrivens 25 seconds later for a 5-0 advantage. Pearson completed his two-goal performance at 5:59 of the third, burying a loose puck in the crease for the Kings' first power-play goal of the season, but Hendricks scored with 20.9 seconds remaining to spoil Quick's bid to tie Rogie Vachon for the franchise mark of 32 shutouts.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pearson has scored four of the Kings' 12 goals on the season. ... Edmonton D Darnell Nurse made his NHL debut, registering two shots and a minus-1 rating in 18:04 of ice time.
