Flames 8, Oilers 1: Curtis Glencross recorded his third career hat trick and Mike Cammalleri scored his 10th goal in 11 games while adding two assists as Calgary cruised to its fourth consecutive victory in Edmonton.

Cammalleri's team-leading 23rd tally ignited a four-goal outburst in a 3:05 span of the second period as Matt Stajan converted a penalty shot before Paul Byron and Glencross also scored. Stajan added three assists while captain Mark Giordano scored and set up a goal to provide plenty of offensive support for Karri Ramo (24 saves), who returned from a knee injury.

Cammalleri gave Calgary a 2-1 lead 4:13 into the second by one-timing a shot from the right faceoff circle. Stajan made the Oilers pay for being slashed by defenseman Mark Fraser on a breakaway 67 seconds later, beating Viktor Fasth with a backhander. Stajan promptly lifted his arm skyward, perhaps to honor the memory of his newborn son Emerson.

The Flames quickly turned the season's final installment of the Battle of Alberta into a rout as Byron scored from the right circle at the six-minute mark. Glencross capped the four-goal session at 7:18 as he wristed a shot from the left circle that caromed off the near post and in to chase Fasth, who was relieved by Ben Scrivens (12 saves) after allowing five goals on 16 shots.

Glencross and Kevin Westgarth scored 37 seconds apart early in the third period, prompting several fans at Rexall Place to throw Oilers jerseys onto the ice in disgust. Glencross capped the hat trick at 13:19 of the session by unleashing a blast from above the left circle that beat Scrivens.
