Carcillo began the fireworks 2:14 into the contest by converting a wraparound at the left post before Nash beat Ray Emery (31 saves) from the slot just 28 seconds later. Brassard gave New York a 3-0 lead at 9:24 with a blast from the left faceoff circle.

Kreider, who assisted on Nash's tally, tucked the puck past Emery for a power-play goal at 13:18 of the second period. Streit answered by blasting a shot from the point past a screened Lundqvist, who held the fort from there to record his first three-game winning streak of the season.
