Brian Elliott turned aside 20 shots in improving to 5-1-1 for St. Louis, which is 2-0-1 against the Jets this season.

Little scored the only goal for the Jets, who gave St. Louis the late power-play opportunity when defenseman Dustin Byfuglien was called for hooking with 3:26 remaining. Ondrej Pavelec made 18 saves for Winnipeg, which was playing its first game at home after a 4-2-0 road trip.

Elliott stopped all eight shots he faced as his teammates mustered only a pair in the opening period. St. Louis picked it up in the second session and took the lead when Steen banked in a shot off Pavelec from below the left faceoff circle at 4:44.

Little tied the game three minutes into the third with a one-timer from the right circle during a man advantage after a quick pass from captain Andrew Ladd. Pavelec made a big stop on Vladimir Sobotka with 7:17 left to keep it tied, but the Jets failed on a power-play chance soon after.
