Coyotes 6, Oilers 2: Mike Ribeiro scored to ignite a three-goal third period and added two assists as Phoenix romped in the opener of its four-game road trip.

Mikkel Boedker also recorded a goal and two assists while captain Shane Doan, Radim Vrbata and Davis Moss all added one of each for the Coyotes, who have earned a point in 10 straight meetings with Edmonton (8-0-2). Defenseman Keith Yandle also scored and Mike Smith turned aside 31 shots to improve to 7-1-1 lifetime against the Oilers.

David Perron scored both goals for the Oilers, who fell to 5-3-0 in their last eight. Devan Dubnyk made 27 saves in his first start since Nov. 25.

The Coyotes scored twice in a 58-second span in the second period to snap a 1-1 deadlock, with Vrbata redirecting a crossing pass from Ribeiro at 6:58. Doan was credited with his team-leading 12th goal less than a minute later, when Ribeiro's soft wrist shot from the point deflected off him and past Dubnyk, but Perron answered on the power play at 19:08 by burying a feed from Ales Hemsky for his team-high 11th goal.

Ribeiro restored the two-goal cushion at 4:46 of the final period, when he was left all alone in the slot and ripped a shot past the glove of Dubnyk. The Coyotes turned it into a rout when Yandle and Moss scored 42 seconds apart midway throught the session.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Moss had a goal waved off in the opening two minutes of the third period, and a video review confirmed his stick was above the crossbar when he batted the puck into the net.... Dubnyk, who got the start due to an upper-body injury that has sidelined Ilya Bryzgalov, fell to 0-3-2 lifetime at home against Phoenix. ... Vrbata has three goals and three assists during his five-game point streak.
