Stars 3, Oilers 0: Rich Peverley snapped a scoreless tie midway through the second period while Kari Lehtonen made 22 saves and notched an assist as Dallas handed Edmonton its franchise-record third straight shutout loss at home.

Tyler Seguin and Antoine Roussel added empty-net goals for the Stars, who extended their road winning streak to four games.

Devan Dubnyk stopped 23 shots in one of his best efforts of the season for the Oilers, who have scored a total of two goals in their last five home games. Edmonton, which has dropped four straight overall, fell to 1-6-0 at Rexall Place and has not tallied in its own building since Oct. 24 against Washington.

Peverley gave Lehtonen all the offensive support he needed at 10:35 of the middle session. After his backhander from the outer edge of the left faceoff circle was stopped, Peverley got to his own rebound to the left of the crease and lifted the puck over Dubnyk and under the crossbar for his fourth goal.

Lehtonen turned aside nine shots in the first period, six in the second and seven in the third en route to his 23rd career shutout and first this season. The Finnish netminder, who will celebrate his 30th birthday Saturday, improved to 6-1-0 lifetime at Edmonton.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dallas C Shawn Horcoff made his return to Edmonton after being traded in July. The former Oilers captain had an uneventful performance, registering two hits and losing his lone faceoff in 14:49 of ice time. ... Stars rookie RW Valeri Nichushkin was awarded a penalty shot after being hooked from behind by Edmonton D Anton Belov with 3:04 remaining in the third period but was denied by Dubnyk. ... Dallas went 0-for-6 on the power play and is 2-for-35 over its last 10 games.
