Radim Vrbata and Rob Klinkhammer also tallied while defenseman Keith Yandle notched two assists for the Coyotes, who have gone 5-0-2 after losing two of their first three games. Mike Smith made 22 saves in his first start since becoming the 11th goaltender in NHL history to be credited with a goal.

Lee Stempniak and Joe Colborne scored while Joey MacDonald turned aside 29 shots for the Flames, who fell to 1-3-0 on their five-game road trip.

After extending his point streak to seven games in the second period, Ribeiro completed his second straight two-goal performance in the third. Yandle made a pass through traffic from the left faceoff circle to Ribeiro, who fired the puck into the net from below the right circle for a 3-2 lead.

Vrbata opened the scoring at 8:41 of the first period, beating MacDonald from the right circle during a power play for his 200th career goal. Ribeiro scored on a deflection midway through the second to double the lead, but Stempniak buried a rebound with 1:34 left in the session and Colborne converted a breakaway chance three minutes into the third to forge a 2-2 tie.
