Penguins 4, Flyers 1: Captain Sidney Crosby scored to extend his season-opening point streak to a personal-best seven games and Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 24 shots as visiting Pittsburgh toppled its reeling Keystone State rival.

Jussi Jokinen and Chris Kunitz tallied 2 1/2 minutes apart in the second period - with Evgeni Malkin setting up the latter's goal to increase his point streak to five contests. Malkin added an empty-net tally and Pascal Dupuis notched a pair of assists for the Penguins, who have won three in a row for the second time this season.

Wayne Simmonds ended Philadelphia's 0-for-18 drought on the power play by scoring with two seconds remaining in the second period. Steve Mason finished with 31 saves for the Flyers, who have dropped four straight and reside at a franchise-worst 1-7-0 to start the season.

Pittsburgh enjoyed the better of play before taking advantage of three separate failed clearing attempts by Philadelphia to end a scoreless deadlock. Jokinen took advantage by snapping a shot past Mason at 9:43 of the second period before Kunitz cleaned up a rebound of defenseman Matt Niskanen's point shot with 7:47 remaining in the session.

Stationed on the doorstep, Simmonds trimmed the deficit by deflecting captain Claude Giroux's shot from the top of the left circle. Philadelphia turned up the intensity in the third, but a giveaway in its own zone led to an easy tap-in by Crosby with 2:32 remaining.
