Kings 2, Ducks 1: Mike Richards scored a power-play goal with 58 seconds remaining in the second period to snap a tie and help extend Los Angeles' home winning streak to five games.

Defenseman Drew Doughty recorded a goal and an assist while Jonathan Quick made 19 saves for the Kings, who moved three points ahead of fifth-place San Jose in the Western Conference. Los Angeles also climbed within seven points of Anaheim for first in the Pacific Division with six games remaining.

Captain Ryan Getzlaf scored a short-handed goal and Viktor Fasth turned aside 16 shots for the Ducks, who have lost three of five - scoring only once in each defeat. Anaheim also has dropped five straight visits to Los Angeles.

With Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin in the penalty box, Richards received a pass from Doughty and unleashed a rising slap shot from the top of the left faceoff circle that sailed under the crossbar for his 11th goal.

Doughty opened the scoring midway through the first period when his shot from the point made it through traffic and between Fasth's pads. Anaheim pulled even at 3:07 of the second, when Getzlaf beat Quick to a loose puck near the blue line and fired it into a vacant net.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Quick's victory was the 146th of his career, giving him sole possession of second place on the franchise list. He had been tied for the spot with Kelly Hrudey.
