Flames 4, Avalanche 3: Mike Cammalleri scored a pair of goals in the second period as Calgary won its eighth consecutive home game despite trading captain Jarome Iginla to Pittsburgh.

Trade speculation increased after the Flames made Iginla a healthy scratch, ending his streak of consecutive games at 441. Calgary later announced it traded its all-time scoring leader to the Penguins for prospects Ben Hanowski and Kenny Agostino as well as a first-round pick in the 2013 draft.

Jiri Hudler netted power-play goal, Steve Begin also tallied and Joey MacDonald turned aside 27 shots for the Flames, who have not lost at home since dropping a 3-1 decision to Los Angeles on Feb. 20.

Captain Gabriel Landeskog scored for the fifth time in six contests and Ryan O'Reilly netted a 5-on-3 power-play goal for Colorado. Jamie McGinn also tallied and Semyon Varlamov finished with 23 saves for the Avalanche, who have dropped seven of eight overall and are winless in their last 10 on the road (0-7-3).

McGinn brought Colorado within a goal at 2-1 at 4:29 of the second period after cleaning up the rebound of a shot from PA Parenteau. Cammalleri promptly answered 12 seconds later by unleashing a blast from the slot.

Landeskog again trimmed the deficit over 4 1/2 minutes later by banking the puck off MacDonald's arm and into the net. Cammalleri struck again with 7:19 remaining in the session, blasting a one-timer from the right faceoff circle to give Calgary a 4-2 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cammalleri had been held off the scoresheet in four consecutive games prior to Wednesday's uprising. ... O'Reilly also picked up an assist on Landeskog's goal to extend his point streak to four games. ... Colorado, which owns the worst road record in the league at 2-11-3, hasn't won away from the Pepsi Center since posting a shootout victory at Minnesota on Feb. 14.
