Canadiens 4, Flyers 1: Rookie Brendan Gallagher and Rene Bourque each recorded a goal and an assist as host Montreal posted its third straight victory.

David Desharnais and Tomas Plekanec also scored while Peter Budaj made 18 saves in his third start of the season for the Canadiens, who halted their three-game losing streak against the Flyers. Budaj got the nod as Carey Price was sidelined with the flu.

Danny Briere netted the lone goal and Brian Boucher stopped 25 shots for Philadelphia, which fell to 1-3-0 on its six-game road trip.

Gallagher opened the scoring at 8:53 of the first period with a shot from the left faceoff circle and Desharnais doubled the lead 75 seconds into the middle session, coverting a backhand pass from behind the net by Max Pacioretty. Briere halved the deficit later in the period, but Plekanec beat Boucher from the right circle 4 1/2 minutes into the third to make it 3-1.

Bourque was credited with an empty-net goal with 64 seconds remaining after he was interfered with from behind, sealing the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Montreal lost both Pacioretty and Gallagher late in the third period. Pacioretty, who recently underwent an appendectomy, appeared to hit his stomach as he crashed into the goal post, while Gallagher was crunched into the boards from behind by Philadelphia D Luke Schenn. No penalty was called. ... Eight of the Flyers' nine regulation losses have come on the road. ... Philadelphia D Kimmo Timonen was in the lineup and played just over 17 1/2 minutes after leaving Friday's loss in New Jersey after two periods with a lower-body injury.
