Ducks 2, Sharks 1: Defenseman Sheldon Souray snapped a tie with 6:39 remaining in the third period as host Anaheim rallied to hand San Jose its first regulation loss of the season.

Saku Koivu also scored and Viktor Fasth made 25 saves for the Ducks, who avenged a shootout loss in San Jose last Tuesday and completed a perfect three-game homestand.

Logan Couture scored and Thomas Greiss stopped 30 shots for San Jose, which is 0-1-1 in its last two games after beginning the season with seven straight wins.

Trailing 1-0 after two periods, Anaheim turned the game around with the help of a weird bounce and a deflection. San Jose's Tommy Wingels attempted to wrap a pass in his own zone around the boards from the left side of the net, but the puck caromed off the end boards and into the crease, where Koivu tapped it past an unsuspecting Greiss 3:53 into the third to tie the game.

Souray put the Ducks ahead when his shot from the left point deflected off Scott Gomez's stick and into the net.

The Sharks struck first as Couture scored his sixth goal with 1:52 remaining in the opening period. Fasth made the save after Andrew Desjardins' slap shot from along the left-wing boards deflected off a defender, but Couture grabbed the rebound on the doorstep and backhanded it into the net.

San Jose defenseman Jason Demers made the save of the night with 7 1/2 minutes left in the second period, knocking the puck away with the blade of his stick just before Andrew Cogliano's shot crossed the goal line.
