FLAMES 5, JETS 3: Alex Tanguay scored a goal and set up three others and captain Jarome Iginla had a tally and two assists as Calgary topped Winnipeg to inch closer to eighth place in the Western Conference standings.

Curtis Glencross scored for the sixth straight game to match a career high with 24 goals for the Flames, who trail the San Jose Sharks by just one point.

Olli Jokinen notched three assists and Miikka Kiprusoff turned aside 42 shots for Calgary, which snapped a five-game home losing skid with the win.

Blake Wheeler scored for the fourth straight game and has six goals in as many contests. Evander Kane and defenseman Tobias Enstrom also tallied for the Jets, who sit three points behind Southeast Division-leading Florida and remain out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference by virtue of having one less victory than Washington.

After defenseman Mark Giordano's blast from the point opened the scoring at 3:54 of the first period, Iginla doubled the advantage by deflecting Jokinen's backdoor feed past Ondrej Pavelec for his 28th goal.

Matt Stajan netted his 100th career goal to give Calgary a 3-0 lead just over six minutes later.

After Kane and Wheeler scored to trim the deficit to one late in the first period, Tanguay tallied midway through the second as the Flames cruised to victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Iginla has five goals and four assists in his last five games. ... With the Flames nursing so many injuries, Sven Baertschi was called up from Portland of the Western Hockey League to make his NHL debut on Friday. The 13th overall pick of the 2011 draft, Baertschi had one shot in just over nine minutes of ice time. ... Although successful at home, coach Claude Noel's club has struggled mightily away from Manitoba. Winnipeg is just 11-19-4 on the road this season.
