Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and veteran Jason Arnott collected a goal and an assist apiece as the St. Louis Blues skated to their first win of the season with a 5-2 home triumph over the Calgary Flames on Monday afternoon.

Blue-liner Kevin Shattenkirk, Chris Stewart and Alex Steen also scored and Jaroslav Halak turned aside 15 shots for St. Louis, which posted just its fourth win in 15 contests against Calgary. The Blues were outscored by a 14-3 margin in last season's four-game sweep by the Flames.

After Shattenkirk gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead earlier in the second period, Pietrangelo ripped a one-timer past Henrik Karlsson to double the advantage with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the session.

The fourth overall pick of the 2008 draft, Pietrangelo also set up Stewart in the third period to give St. Louis a 4-2 lead. The two points were Pietrangelo's first in six career games versus the Flames.

Captain Jarome Iginla netted his 27th career goal against the Blues by cleaning up a rebound and Curtis Glencross scored for the second time in as many games for Calgary.

Karlsson made just his 12th career start and finished with 30 saves.
